Raymarine Double Handed Race to be held on Saturday, 29 November
The Raymarine Figure of Eight Double Handed Round Malta Race is the longer of the two shorthanded races in the Royal Malta Yacht Club calendar and is now in its 21st year. This short-handed race has been popular since its inception and the trophy bears the names of most of Malta’s best sailors.

The race will take place on Saturday 29 November, starting at 9am in Marsamxett Harbour and will follow a figure of eight course around the two islands passing through the Comino channels. Boats will sail to the Outer Munxar Cardinal Mark leaving it to Starboard, around the South of Malta leaving Malta to Starboard, to Filfla leaving it to Starboard, to the North Comino Channel leaving Comino to Starboard, around Gozo leaving it to Port, through the South Comino Channel leaving Comino to Port and Malta to Starboard then heading to the finish at the Yacht Club.

“The Royal Malta Yacht Club’s association with Raymarine and RLR Yachting goes back to over 20 and this 85 nautical-mile regatta ranks among the most popular events in the annual calendar of sailing, keenly awaited for by double-handed racing enthusiasts,” said Godwin Zammit, Commodore, Royal Malta Yacht Club. “We are grateful to Raymarine and RLR Yachting for their longstanding and ongoing support.”

The Raymarine Double Handed Race Briefing will be held on Wednesday 26 November at 7.30pm at the Royal Malta Yacht Club, with the prize giving ceremony being at the Club on Sunday30 November. A number of great prizes, courtesy of Raymarine, will be presented to the winners in the various classes.
