Noel Coleiro’s side have managed another impressive win this season as earlier this afternoon they outclassed Marsaxlokk with a 4-2 win. The match which was played at the Hibernians Stadium looked to be going in favour of the Southseasiders after Deanov converted magical free kick to beat Cassar just after eleven minutes. But it was not the case as Tarxien’s forward line was yet again in tip top condition backed by the mechanical work of the Blues’ midfield led by team captain Manuel Caruana.

Tarxien had missing Justin Grioli who was serving a one match ban, whilst Seergio Pacheco back in contention after he recovered from a food poison virus that left him out of Tarxien’s eighteen man squad of last week against Birkirkara. Patrick Curmi on the other hand could not make use of Clive Brincat who is still trying to recover from his hamstring injury, whilst their latest signing 20 year old defender Luca Lodetti was ineligible to play since his international clearance is yet to be sent by the Italian FA.

Marsaxlokk had Trevor Templeman playing an unusual right back position with Licari given an offensive midfield role.

With today’s win Tarxien move alone to the second place of the table with 17 points from 10 games, 4 points less than leaders Vallett who have a game in hand.
