The Magpies want both a centre back and a front man before the new campaign gets under way next Saturday.

A close source to sportinmalta.com has revealed that the black and whites are still in the market for two more players this summer.

The former league champions have already added a number of new faces to their first-team squad for next season, including Montenegro goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic, Spanish ace Dani Pelaez, winger Jonathan Bajada from Mosta and also renewal the contract of veteran Malcolm Licari.

However, with the loss of Spanish striker Jose Luis Negrin, who joined Balzan FC and Clive Brincat who return back with his parent club, the club hopes to be able to conclude deals for at least two new players before the begining of the new campaign.

One of the positions being targeted by coach Steve D’Amato is the centre-back area, with the coach keen to provide both cover and competition for current first-choice Ivan Carapic with Mosta Adrian Borg and Valletta Yessous Camilleri on the coach wish list

Meanwhile the other area of concern for the coach is up front, that be finding a replacement for Negrin, who registered 22 goals last season.

A close source to sportinmalta.com confirm that already known foreign striker in Malta is close in on joining the Magpies in time to face the Champions next Saturday.

Rabat Ajax are also welcome back strikers Adam Smeir and Ryan Micallef, who missed last season with injuries
