Qormi FC present Michael Mifsud

Qormi FC presented Michael Mifsud today at the Qormi Local Council.

The former Valletta striker joined Qormi today after he clinched a 5 month contract. The twenty-nine year old ironically had scored his last goal against Qormi in the U*Bet FA Trophy final last season that was won by the Citizens 2-1.

Committee member Emmanuel Bonnici opened the rally outlining all the details that occurred since last Wednesday. He assured the squad that all payments will be made on time despite the commitment towards Michael Mifsud’s high wages and also revealed that the club had already a EUR30,000 payroll before Mifsud’s arrival.

Coach Stephen Azzopardi also addressed the supporters and said he was proud that the Maltese Captain has join his squad.

Addressing the those present and the media, Qormi FC President Redino Apap said this was not the club’s first attempt to sign Mifsud. The first approach was made in December, and after the failure of Floriana to sign him, yesterday following some discussions, the player expressed his will to join them.

Redino Apap thanked Vice presidents Matthew Fenech and his brother Silvan and also BMIT Data Centre who made Michael Mifsud’s arrival a reality.

In the end Maltese captain Michael Mifsud thanked all the other players in the squad who welcomed him at today’s first session.
