Qormi Football Club and Teresa Nuzzo School, Marsa, joined forces for the first time to celebrate a day of Health Awareness. The school is currently raising awareness about leading a healthy lifestyle and this is being achieved  by guiding them to choosing appropriate and healthy food stuffs, thus leading to a balanced diet, accompanied by regular daily physical activity.

Qormi F.C accepted Teresa Nuzzo’s invitation with open arms and it was decided that a group of players (Abubaker Bello-Osagie, Federico Mirarchi, Jorginhio Da Silva, Giuseppe Vela Jnr, Carmelo Farrugia and Daniel Nwoke)  together with the assistant coach Steve D’Amato visit the school and play a 2 friendly matches against the Grade 6 students. The players also took the time to sign autographs for all children and also took photgraphs with them.

This initiative was undertaken by the schools PE teacher Matthew Bartolo, who also plays with Qormi FC. Special thanks must go to all those who participated in this initiative.

My son was there and he enjoyed it a lot, i think that this initiative must be taken by all clubs in Malta not only football but every kind of sports clubs in Malta, like rugby, tennis, basketball, table tennis, athletics, waterpolo etc.  Children love this kind of activities and they all look foward for them .
KMS needs to be involved in such activities and start talking with clubs and schools so such event will happen at least once a week in a school in Malta. PE activities at school are getting less and less every year i know because i have children myself and they tell me so.
Computers and video games and homeworks are taking over our children outdoor activities something has to be done to solve this problem .
