Following this match Pembroke share top spot with San Gwann as they both are on 39 points from 15 games. Marsa are in bottom placing having only 1 point from 15 games.
Pembroke enjoyed the lion’s share of exchanges throughout the 70 minutes.
 
The first four actions were created by Pembroke. Brandon Bugeja served Courage Omoruandzoe in the area and Marsa keeper Ryan Armaoui foiled him with a timely sortie and he did like wise on the same palyer after he was put through by Neil Grech. Grech then served Mikhail Schembri in the area and a defender cleared the ball to a corner and Grech then served Liam Saliba with a short free kick pass but he drove over the bar from outside the area.
 
In the first action by Marsa, Brady Agius served Ritiano Ciantar in the area and Pembroke keeper Philip Mifsud Bonnici foiled him with a timelty sortie.
 
Pembroke opened the score in the 20th minute when they won a corner kick on the left flank which was taken by Omoruandzoe and Jonathan Cassar, in an attempt to clear the ball had the misfortune to deflect the ball into his own net.
 
Mifsud Bonnici then saved a shot from outside the area by Ciantar after a through ball by Agius.
 
The pressure from Pembroke resumed and they mounted two further actions before the break. Clayton Sammut served Schembri in the area but he missed the upright from his shot and Steven Camilleri, after beating a defender on the left flank crossed the ball in the area to Schembri but he failed to apply the killer touch from a very ideal position.
 
The first two actions after the break were created by Marsa. Ciantar served Kalvin Stivala in the area but Mifsud Bonnici was able to save his weak shot and Agius floated a perfect high ball in the area from a free kick and Mifsud Bonnici partly saved a shot by Ciantar and the ball was cleared.
 
Pembroke doubled the score in the 40th minute when Camilleri dribbled past an opponent on the left flank and crossed the ball in the area to Schembri who scored from inside the area.
 
The pressure from Pembroke was incessant and they mounted three further actions. Mikhail Schembri dribbled past an opponent on the right flank who then crossed the ball to Omoruanzoe in the area but he missed the upright. Bugeja was then fouled on the right flank and the ball was headed away from the free kick by Grech and Camilleri served Mikhail Schembri in the area and Armaoui denied with a save to a corner.
 
In the 55th minute Pembroke were awarded a penalty when Bugeja served Mikhail Schembri in the area and was tripped by Agius. Omoruanzoe took charge of the kick and Armaoui saved his grounder.
 
Three minutes before the end Pembroke scored their third goal after a prolonged action. Camilleri served substitute Glenn Gregory in the area and Armaoui saved his shot to a corner which was taken by Camilleri and Nicholas Schembri scored with a header.
