Pembroke qualified for the Semi Finals after a penalty shoot-out. They will now play against Valletta who won against Msida by beating them 7-1.The game will be palyed on Wednesday 1 June at Luxol Ground and kicks off at 6.00 p.m.

The first action came from Pembroke when Daniel Suda served Karl Grech on the right flank and the ball was cleared to a corner from his cross which was taken by Franklin Schembri and the ball was cleared to another corner, while at the other end, Jackie Bonavia served Sean Abela on the right flank and the ball was cleared to a corner from his cross.

In the 6th minute Lee Grech should have opened the score for Pembroke but he miscued his shot from a very ideal position in the area after a Suda perfect cross.

Brandon Farrugia then served Christian Schenbri in Pembroke’s area but he drove off target.

In the 9th minute Pembroke were denied by the wood work. Schembri served Michael Psaila Debono with a through ball who then served Karl Grech on the right flank, the latter served Schembri in the area and the ball hit the base of the upright with Rabat keeper Mario Bonello beaten and the ball was cleared to safety.

In a Rabat reaction they mounted two actions in a row. Zachary Tanti served Nicolai Aquilina on the left flank and the ball was cleared to a corner from his dangerous cross and Kurt Muscat served Farrugia with a through ball and Pembroke keeper Matthew Calleja Cremona saved his shot from outside the area in two attempts.

Pembroke opened the score in the 25th minute when Schembri dribbled past an opponent on the right flank and served Grech with a cross in the area who scored with a header.

The last action before the break was created by rabat when Schembri was fouled outside the area and Calleja Cremona saved the free kick shot by Tanti.

Rabat created the first two actions after the restart. Schembri served Tanti with a square pass but he drove over the bar from outside the area and in a similar action Tanti again drove over the bar from outside the area.

In the 52nd minute Rabat restored equilibrium with a choral move between three players. Schembri served Farrugia with a cross from the left flank who then served Abela in the area who netted with a low shot.

Pembroke’s reaction was very immediate as they mounted two actions in a row. Schembri entered the area after dribbling past three defenders he then served Zammit and Bonello saved his close-range shot and Grech served Schembri with a through ball in the area and Bonello saved his shot in two attempts.

The last two actions before the end were created by Rabat. Farrugia was fouled on the right flank and the ball was cleared to a corner from the free kick by Andy P Camilleri and after Schembri was fouled outside the area Farrugia missed the upright from the free kick.

As the game ended in a draw after normal time penalty kicks had to be taken.

Calleja Cremona, Schembri, Grech and Zammit scored for Pembroke and Bonello saved on Suda.

Azzopardi, Abela and Scicluna scored for Rabat.Calleja cremona saved on Tanti and Farrugia drove over the bar.
