Andrei Agius’ contract not extended.

This week Birkirkara FC committee received the letters of resignation of Mr Joe Abela as Technical Advisor, and Mr Joe B Grech as Team Manager. In their letters they expressed their deep regret over what happened in the semi-final match against Floriana FC, when in the last substitution, the team ended playing with five foreign players. They explained that although it was a genuine mistake, they still felt responsible and that they should resign. The committee did not accept their resignations.

The committee also decided it was not in a position to offer new contracts to the Senior Coach Paul Zammit and Assistant Coach Branko Nisevic. The Club in a statement thanked them for their hard work, dedication and integrity.
Birkirkara FC will also be releasing players Nikola Vukanac, Ibrahim Babatunde, Michael Fraser, Rodolfo Kumbrevicius and Andrei Agius.

Although this might be seen as a very drastic decision by the Stripe’s committee the Club has immediately embarked for the search of a new coach with whom plans for the recruitment of news foreign and local players will commence with no further delay.
