Nemanja Tomic netted a brace against Local Champions

FK Partizan 3-1 Valletta FC (agg: 7-2)

The Serbian champions overpowered their Maltese counterparts for a second time, despite another goal from Michael Mifsud, Serbian international Nemanja Tomic brace helped Partizan Belgrade to a 3-1 win in Serbia last night.

The host took a deserved lead on the 10th minute when Nikola Aksentijevic sent a cross into the path of 24 year old Tomic who headed past helpless Andre Krul.

Despite the disadvantage, Valletta tried to equalized threw William Barbosa shot but his piledrive was pushed by Partizan goalkeeper.

Valletta made a perfect start to the second half and on the 60th minute Maltese international Michael Mifsud shot beaten Petrovic to scored his 6th champions League goal this season.

Valletta joy was short lived as the Belgrade side took again lead as top star Nemanja Tomic’s long-range effort gave no chance to Dutch goalkeeper Andre Krul.

The Serbs sealed the tie with another goal when Aksentijevic burst into the area and his shot hit off the upright. But from the rebound the 21 year old Aleksander Mitrovic fired the ball into an empty net.

5minuts before the end of the match club captain Gilbert Agius probably made his last appearance for the Citizens in the Uefa Champions League.

Partizan will play either AEL Limassol FC or Linfield in the third qualification round.

The auther of this report is either a parrot, repeating what was told to write,or needs special glasses to say that valletta keeper wasn’t given a chance in the second goal, fact is ( and i saw the goal a MILLION times krull did manage to get a hand to the ball (which even changed dirction ) before entering the net.

Carmelo, Krull was at fault in the second goal. You never excpect a keeper to concede a goal from out there – sandro micallef
