Norway team with students

Norway’s national rugby league team this week trained with an enthusiastic group of supporters watching on and then taking part in a skills class.

On a sunny morning Thursday, the Vikingene were put through their paces by head coach Warren Heilig at St Clare College girls Junior Lyceum at Pembroke.

Students of the all-girls school then joined the national team squad in some rugby league orientated fun games.

Vikingene players committed to two promotional schools visits during their four-day stay in Malta, with another training session and and a skills class at Tal Handaq Boys Secondary School, Qormi.

P.E teachers Ms. Gosney and Ms. Grech said that this had been a fantastic opportunity for their students to observe and experience Rugby league. “We have had Anthony Micallef from Malta Rugby League along with Inspire doing wheel chair rugby at the school, now the the visit from Norway National team, so we look forward to a whole lot more of events during the next scholastic year” they said.
