New swimming national & age group records

The ASA Swimming Squad and a selection of swimmers took part in the Swedish Grand Prix Swimming Competition on the 26th and 27th January 2019 in Malmo.

During this meet the following records were broken:
Leah Tanti swam the 100m Breaststroke Heat and established the new Age Group D Record with a time of 01:15,43. The previous record of 1:16,17 was held by Leah herself and was set on the 8th of December 2018 in Gzira. With this time Leah qualified to compete in the Final where she once again improved her time and set the Age Group D Record at 1:15,33.

During the same session, Sasha Gatt swam the 800m Freestyle and established a new National Record of 9:28,75. The previous record of 9:30,35 was set by Roberta Callus in June 2003 in Gzira.

On the second day of competition, Mya Azzopardi swam the 100m Backstroke and established a new National Record of 1:06,62. The previous record of 1:06,82 was also held by Mya and was achieved on the 1st of June 2017 in Serravalle.
