All of Neptunes’ three victories over Sirens this season were comfortable ones. The champions are back in second position, pushing San Giljan into third place, but still a point adrift of leaders, Sliema. The latter play San Giljan this afternoon.

Sirens stayed in touch in the opening session, but from the next one onwards Neptunes were pushing hard on the throttle, and a combination of goals, from Tamas Molnar, with a total of eight strikes, and also a double hat trick from Steve Camilleri, along with a very healthy eight goals from nine man ups, had Neptunes striding decisively forward, to leave their adversaries in their wake. Once more Ryan Sciortino was in goal for the champions, but this time Ian Bugeja took his place after the interval, no doubt with two important games coming along next week.

Sirens had their fair share of the game, but they always had an uphill struggle, with Jurgen Borg grabbing a poker of goals, along with Csaba Kiss, with the latter missing his third penalty in as many matches.
