Negotiations two months ahead of transfer window

First Division side Naxxar Lions are interested in the signing of favour Floriana striker Boris Odwong in the January transfer window.

A Floriana spokesman has confirmed the interest by Naxxar Lions and it is beleived the greens are  keen to offload the twenty year old.

The Nigerian striker currently out of the Vilhena team, had a difficult spell with the Greens as he just found the net once in eight games, against Tarxien Rainbows.

Left back Andrew Spiteri was released early from his one year contract as he never played a minute for the greens following his move from Marsaxlokk last summer. The former Castel Di Sagro defender could join Mosta in January.

Veteran striker Ivan Woods is set to be out for three weeks as he pulled a hamstring in the 1-1 draw against Hiberninas last Saturday. Floriana have suffered a lot from injuries this season. Defender Tyrone Farrugia and Christian Caruana are also in the treatment climic. The former is to be operated in his knee next week.

Division Two title favourites Gzira United are set to sign veteran George Mallia in the January transfer window from Premier league side Qormi. The thirty two year old played for Sliema Wanderers, Floriana, Birkirkara and Qormi in his glittering career.

Premier League side Qormi released Belgian defender Jason Lee Vandelannoite two years early from his contract. It is not yet known if Qormi will be granted a financial compensation either from the player of from his new Club.

    I wonder who did all these “splendid” summer signings… Odwong, Okonkwo (Hamrun Reject), Andrew Spiteri (M’Xlokk Reject), John Mintoff (Sliema Backup), etc… We have no backup in some areas especially at the back while as other lower rep. clubs strengthened with some quality foreigners, we flopped once again! Now it’s desperation time due to injuries and most prob we will sign some other foreign rejects!
