This event is expected to be hosted in The National Shooting Complex that is going to be ready by the 2016.
This would mean that National shooting teams from Nordic countries will be holding their training camps in Malta during the shoulder months for the benefit of Sports tourism.
The ISSF Vice President Vladimir Lisin also promised to send The Russian squad to Malta between October and March when the project is ready. He also promised an invitation for Maltese shooters at The Baku European Games to be held in 2016.
The ISSF will eventually be organizing a Judges and Referees course in Malta to prepare for such a big event.
The MSSF President thanked Architect Muscat for his plans and Jimmy Bugeja for the 3D Design that was presented to The ISSF General Assembly. He also thanked The MTA, Air Malta, The KMS, MOC and The Minister of Tourism Edward Zammit Lewis and Parliamentary Secretary for Sports Chris Agius for their support for this bid.
Parliamentary Secretary for Sports Chris Agius also addressed this press conference where he said that the government will honor his electoral pledge and The National Shooting Complex will be ready to host such a big event and that would attract Sports tourism to Malta.
