National Record in 100m breaststroke by Andrea Agius

ASA National Swimmer Andrea Agius, participating in the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships being held in Shanghai, continued to improve on his previous timing of 01.07.16 in the 100m breaststroke when he set a new national record of 01.06.13. Swimming in heat 3, Andrea placed fifth in the heat to register his overall position of the event at 68 out of 81 competitors.

In the other event of 50m butterfly, ASA National Swimmer Andrew Chetcuti competed in the third of the seven heats held and finished  5th in the heat  and 37 overall out of 54 competitors participating in this event.

Andrea Agius, Andrew Chetcuti and Nicola Muscat, accompanied by National Coach Andy Colbourn and ASA Technical Committee Secretary and Team Manager Chris Agius, are this week in Shanghai to participate in the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships.

 The next races for the Maltese swimmers are scheduled for  Tuesday 26 July.
