The Maltese Kickboxing and K-1 Association would like to announce the date and venue for the National Championships. This is by far one of the best ever fight cards promoted in the Maltese Islands.

A host of fights and participants were announced recently for Malta’s Largest ever, K-1 and Kickboxing national championships, including a titanic clash between two local world champions and a world title defense by a local female kickboxing athlete.

The event takes place June 28, at ‘Stitch Club’ Tal-Balal, San Gwann, Malta, (doors open at 8Pm) and the night’s lineup guarantees a night of all action entertainment and scores which will be settled between the ropes.  .

Confirmed bouts include: WKN world and European champion in K-1 and Kickboxing, Daniel “The Jet” Zahra against WUMA recently crowned world champion, “Super” Steve Martin. This fight in the 70 Kg division, which will be fought under K-1 rules, will have on the line Malta’s first ever national K-1 title at this weight. This fight has all the promise to be a memorable clash of non stop punching and kicking action, as both contenders have had a quite grudge simmering on the backburner for some time.

Co headlining the main event will be the dynamic and all action Maltese fighter, WKN female world amateur kickboxing champion Ruth Tanti, who is to face a TBA opponent. – Tanti who fights in the feather weight division will be defending the title she won from Nuura Mohamed Sayed Ahmed of Egypt, in September 2009.

Another eagerly anticipated fight that has been announced on the main card is the K-1, 75 Kg clash between Ruben Azzopardi and Leonard Tabone.

More details about this local not to be missed event, participating clubs and bookings will be available in the coming weeks.
