Official: Effiong gave his word to Gzira, Steve Bezzina joins Mosta

Nigerian striker Alfred Effiong gave his word to join Gzira United after long discussions with captain Sharlon Pace.

The 27 year old will sign his contract next week as he confirmed with ‘‘I will play for the Maltese first division side Gzira United”, said the former Valletta striker.

Alfred Effiong was brought in the Maltese Premier League by St George’s in January 2006 after a spell in Gozo. He then played for Hamrun Spartans, Qormi, Marsaxlokk and Valletta.

Steve Bezzina has completed his move to Mosta this morning.

The Valletta defender signed a five year contract and will make way for Manuel Bartolo to join the Citizens from Msida St Joseph.

Mosta president George Galea spoke with sportinmalta and he confirmed the transfer. “It is now official.Steve Bezzina is our player. We’ve been targeting Steve since last season and at last he’s ours. It’s a good move for him and good business for Mosta.”

Steve Bezzina a Valletta product, was on loan for two consecutive season with Sliema Wanderers.
