‘This is the season when we are celebrating the club’s 75th Anniversary and our aim is get to the Premier Division.’ That is what George Galea, President of Mosta FC, clearly emphasized during a Press Conference held recently at The George Boutique Hotel in Paceville.
Mosta are this year considered to be one of the favourites to gain promotion from the First Division this season. George Galea said that after a year in office where he and his committee were faced with many obstacles to succeed, this year he was hoping to reap the benefits.
This season we have made several new signings to boost the squad  with the hope of challenging for honours. He said that the ground project is now finished and we are already reaping the benefits. But he emphasized that to achieve success we must also have good financial backing which at the moment is coming from a handful of sponsors, including the main sponsor PRICEMARK.
The President welcomed Mr. Toni Meli and Ramon Zammit , General Administrator and Head Coach of the Nursery respectively, who joined the club this season. He also thanked the committee, team staff and players and wished them well for the coming months.

Spiteri  said that sixty percent of the squad were all club products and this shows the strength in depth at the club. He also mentioned the fact that the club have many players with different  Malta national squads and also ex-Malta internationals that shows the strength of the team.
Other speakers during the conference were the Mosta Major Dr. Paul Chetcuti  Caruana who urged the club take the opportunity to get funds through the European Union as well as pledge his help and support for the refurbishing of the five-a-side pitch.
Toni Meli and Ramon Zammit talked about the importance of the nursery for the future of the club. Mr Meli said that along with the committee he hopes to instill a winning mentality in the boys and girls in the nursery. He said that this year the Women’s team and the Under-18’s are under the guidance of the nursery as well.
Ramon Zammit talked about the improvement he hopes will come from new, modern training methods. New coaches have been recruited to complement the ones already there and plans are in place to continue improve with such fantastic facilities at Mosta.
Jeremy Muscat of Pricemark, the club’s official sponsors, said that he was proud to be linked with the club and being born in Mosta he hopes that at the end of the season we will be celebrating promotion to the Premier League. Mr. Muscat then presented the new Mosta 75th Anniversary shirt to coach Oliver Spteri.
Joseph Muscat, chairman of Mosta Tournaments, announced that the club will be organizing a One-Day Triangular Tournament at the end of the year for the Charles Abela Memorial Cup and sponsored by Nectar Ltd.
