Qormi brush aside lacklustre Blues – Tarxien Rainbows return to winning ways

Final Score: Qormi 4-1 Mosta

Qormi continued their positive run as they beaten bottom place Mosta 4-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Qormi was by far superior than strugglers Mosta as they had an excellent start as Daniel Nwoke scored after few minutes. 5minutes from the end of the first half Mosta suffer a huge blow as Italian defender Federico Tisbo was sent off after a last man foul and from the free kick captain Joseph Farrugia scored from the free kick.

In the second Qormi continued where they left as Nigerian Bello Osagie Abubaker scored another two goals. Twenty minutes from time Nigerian striker Maki Mvondo scored a consolation for Oliver Spiteri side.

Qormi mentor Stephen Azzopardi kept the same line up and also the same formation from last week’s 3-1 victory against Marsaxlokk. Nigerian Daniel Nwoke, Brazilian Jorginho and Belo Osagie formed the trident forward line.

Mosta coach Oliver Spiteri also kept the same eleven from last week’s 3-2 victory against Sliema Wanderers as Maki Mvondo started as a lone striker supported by Ian Zammit and Firas Aboulezz

18min: Mosta goalkeeper Jonathan Debono turn to a corner Joseph Farrugia free kick.

28min: Mosta striker Maki Mvondo just missed the target after he passed two Qormi players

40min: Federico Tisbi sent off after he tripped Joringo outside the penalty box. Joseph Farrugia scored with a perfect free kick

Second Half

50min: Abubaker Bello Osagie scored his first goal of the season after the Nigerian low shot beat Mosta goalkeeper Jonathan Debono after he was served by a perfect trough ball by Matthew Bartolo.

60min: Osagie Bello scored his second and the fourth in the match as he headed Joseph Farrugia corner.

73min:Mvondo scored a consolation goal for Mosta as he lobbed on substituted goalkeeper Steve Sultana

Final Score: Tarxien R 3-2 Mqabba
New  look Tarxien Rainbows return to winning ways after beating Mqabba by the odd goal in five. Tarxien Rainbows, today under new coach Patrick Curmi, scored three goals inside the first twenty minutes by Brazilian Daniel Marino Bueno double and Orosco Anonam. Mqabba reduced the gap as Brazilian striker Thiago Mazzitelli scored another brace for Clive Mizzi’s side.

Tarxien Rainbows now have seven points from nine games as Mqaaba stayed sixth with ten points from nine games.
