On the occasion of EHF Federations’ Meeting held in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday 4th May,

Mr Louis Borg, President of the Malta Handball Association, signed the EHF RINCK Convention.

The signings took place with the EHF participation of President Jean Brihault, Methods Commission Chairman Jerzy Eliasz, and Secretary General Michael Wiederer. MHA was also represented by its CEO, Clyde Borg Conti.

The RINCK Convention was established in 2000 with the objective to harmonise educational qualifications on a European level. The Convention encourages mobility of coaches around Europe and the qualification/education of coaches. Along with Malta, Finland, Greece, Israel and FYR Macedonia signed the convention during the meeting. To date 36 nations are members of the RINCK Convention.

At present the MHA has 45 qualified coaches also registered within the EHF. With the new coaching structure in place handball coaches will be required to obtain a license issued by the MHA in order to be able to coach in all MHA categories.  The MHA announces that in collaboration with the EHF, it will also be organising the 4th edition of the Level 1 Handball Coaching Course in the period September 2014 – August 2015.
