Kevin Azzopardi is to be appointed Director of Communications of the Malta Football Association (MFA). This new post has been created as part of a concerted drive to improve the organisation’s operations across the board. MFA President Norman Darmanin Demajo recognised that the MFA has long felt the need to strengthen further its communications which incorporates public relations, media affairs and corporate communication. “We need to reach out to and engage more effectively with all our stakeholders and followers”, he said.

Azzopardi has spent the past 20 years working for Allied Newspapers Limited, publishers of Times of Malta and The Sunday Times of Malta, where he held the post of Sports Editor.

“I am glad Kevin accepted to join our team. It is crucial for the MFA to tap into the best expertise available in the various aspects of its operations”, said Angelo Chetcuti, the general secretary of the MFA.

Long regarded as one of the leading sports journalists in the country, Azzopardi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. Azzopardi has been a regular correspondent of the BOV Premier League and other top MFA competitions besides closely following the national team’s commitments in international football, both home and away.
