Men’s European U17 Water Polo Championships 2019

The draws for the Qualification Tournaments of the European Junior U17 Water Polo Championships Georgia 2019 were held and Malta was drawn in Group A. This Group will be played in Malta between the 30th April and 3rd May 2019.

GROUP A: MALTA, GREECE, SWITZERLAND, CZECH REPUBLIC, POLAND

GROUP B: GREAT BRITAIN, FRANCE, SLOVAKIA, ISRAEL

GROUP C: PORTUGAL, ROMANIA, GERMANY, SLOVENIA, BELARUS

GROUP D: TURKEY, UKRAINE,  NETHERLANDS, MOLDOVA, BULGARIA

The top two teams from each group will join Montenegro, Spain, Hungary, Russia, Serbia, Italy, Croatia who have already qualified for the Finals plus Georgia (as hosts) which will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia between the 11th and 18th August 2019.

Karl Izzo, National Coach, had the following comments to make:

“I’m happy with this draw. This is a group we can manage to qualify from but we have to work hard. We have the advantage that it will be played in Malta but we have to play matches against strong opposition before this tournament to be well prepared.”
