Mega indoor ZUMBA session for I-Istrina 2010!

Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 10:00

Kunsill Malti għall-iSport in collaboration with official Zumba® certified instructors Maria & Pedro from Spain will be organising a mega indoor Zumba® session as a fund-raising initiative for L-Istrina. This will take place at the Cottonera Sports Complex on 13th December (public holiday) at 3pm. The event is free and open for all but donations for l-Istrina will be appreciated.

Maria & Pedro have introduced the Zumba® Fitness programme in Malta at the beginning of this year, and have unleashed a real local craze. Currently they train hundreds of Maltese every week. Zumba® is a Latin dance-inspired fitness workout. Worldwide there are over 7.5 million people taking a Zumba® session every week. Zumba® is a workout like no other, because it is fun! It consists of a fusion of various dance and aerobic moves put together into a routine danced to Latin and International music, such as Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Hip-Hop, Samba, Belly dancing, Cumbia, Soca, Calypso, Reggae and Flamenco, just to name a few! As the routine involves a combination of fast and slow rhythms participants will be guaranteed a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system which also provides a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. Zumba® utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. But above all, it is a great “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind – in fact Zumba® with Maria & Pedro is not considered a work out, it’s a Latin Fitness Party! Zumba® is a perfect stress-buster and great for all ages and fitness levels – the Young or not so young, with or without dancing or fitness background. Everyone can do it!

Kunsill Malti għall-iSport is also supporting the L-Istrina Campaign by collecting donations from participants of the KMS High Ropes Course which is located in the Ta’ Qali BOV Adventure Park, open every weekend (weather permitting) between 10am and 3pm. In addition donations are being collected during KMS Skolasport, a highly successful programme sponsored for the twelfth year running by Kellogg’s which is held every Saturday at the Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex – University Sports Hall, Marsa Sports Complex, Cottonera Sports Complex, St. Benedicts’ Sports Complex, Kirkop, and St. Claire’s College, Pembroke.

So, if you would like to have some fun and help a good cause we encourage everyone to indulge in a healthy activity and extend their solidarity by supporting Kunsill Malti għall-iSport in its endeavours to contribute to this year’s L-ISTRINA FUND.
