Malta’s most prolific and celebrated tenpin bowler, Sue Abela has taken yet another  Gold Medal , at the 2016 edition of the Mediterranean Bowling Championships being held in Bologna, Italy. Sue’s latest success comes in the ‘All Events’ classification, her having already scooped a Silver medal in the Ladies Singls event, and a Bronze with teammate Tiziana Carannante in the Doubles event.

The All Events classification is what decides the top eight bowlers in both the male and female categories, and Abela claimed the top spot with her total of 4866 from four events and 24 games (202.7 average): Singles, 12115, Doubles – 1274, Mixed Doubles – 1219, Team – 1158. In the Men’s competition, Justin Caruana Scicluna missed out on the top eight for the Masters by a painful seven pins, having rallied in the Team Event with a fantastic 1351 set, but his 4842 from 24 games just wasn’t enough. Meanwhile, Neil Sullivan finished back in 18th place on 4541, but brings home a bronze medal. For his 1281 effort in the Men’s Singles event.
