Mark Marlow, President of the Malta Employees Sports Association (MESA) has been confirmed as an Executive Committee Member of the European Federation for Company Sport (EFCS) for a second four-year term during the EFCS Congress held last weekend in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Marlow was elected for the first time in 2014 in Riccione, Italy. This time round, Marlow obtained a stronger vote from the delegates of more than 30 European countries who attended the Congress. In fact he obtained the third highest number of votes from among the six members elected to the Executive Committee.

The Ljubljana Congress decided also the city that will organise the 24th edition of the European Company Sport Games in 2023. The winning city is Bordeaux (France) from among three candidates nominated, the other two being Fredrikshavn (Denmark) and Ljubljana (Slovenia). These Games are held biannually and after the success that Ghent of Belgium had last year when more than 5,000 athletes took part in 23 different sport disciplines, the Austrian city of Salzburg is aiming next year to attract more than 6,000 athletes for the 22nd edition. The 23rd edition in 2021 will be held in Arnhem, Holland.
