Following the success in the SportMalta Awards with the team, officials and SportMalta Award titles and achieving also the runner-up in the Sports Man of the Year, two more achievements came across the Malta Table Football Sports Association with Angelo Borg (Under 19) and Mark Gauci (Open) winning respective  categories in the Open of France.

The committee and members of the MTFSA were still handling the success in the SportMalta Awards  following the titles won by the National Team, Massimo Cremona winning the SportMalta Award and Silvio Catania as Official of the Year when they were informed that Mark Gauci and Angelo Borg won the respective categories in the FISTF tournament in France.

Valid for the world rankings, the Maltese players had to battle against players from France, Italy, Spain, Greece and Germany. Mark Gauci managed to reach the final against ex-World Champion Daniele Bertelli from Italy. The Italian Player for Black and Blue Pisa managed to eliminate Mark Gauci in the World Semifinals during the world cup 2009 in Rotterdam, Holland. This time, the Maltese National Team captain won the final battle with a sudden death goal that crowned him Open winner for a final score of 2-1.

In the teams category, Mark Gauci together with his Club from Greece, Atlas TFC reached the semifinals of this Open. The Greek side lost against Stella Artois Milano who eventually won the teams event.

Highly ranked Under 19 player Angelo Borg in his category won with a 2-1 score the final against the French man Thirry San, thus making a double for the Maltese side.
