Tough Mudder events are international hardcore obstacle courses designed to test strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. Designed by the British Special Forces, only 78% of participants manage to finish the grueling 10-12 mile courses.

But six Maltese athletes are taking up the challenge. Calling themselves Tough Mudder 1565, the team has been training since March to prepare themselves for obstacles involving mud, ice-cold water, fire and even electric shocks.
Sponsored by Bet90, a betting agency specialised in football bets, Tough Mudder 1565 will be leaving Malta for Wales on Friday to participate in the challenge on Saturday 21st September.
“We are proud to be supporting these young athletes as part of our commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles,” says Simon Sullivan, managing director of Bet90 (www.bet90.com).
Tough Mudder 1565 is made up of Luke Dimech, 34, Matthew Saliba, 32, Amy Cachia, 24, Leonard Padovani, 23, Simon Xuereb, 33, and Guillaume Boulais, 30.
