Maltese shooters take part in international events

Four Maltese shooters competed in different disciplines and events in Ireland and in Italy.

Rennie Deguara won the 2016 Irish Olympic Trap Grand Prix at the National Shooting Grounds Ashbourne, Ireland with the score of 87/100.

In Double Trap, Nathan Lee Xuereb continued with his positive approach as he finished in second place overall in the 8th Shotgun Cup Final Junior at ASD Porpetto, Italy. Xuereb competed with top junior shooters who participated in Orimattila Finland, Suhl Germany and Porpetto, Italy in Double Trap World Cups earlier this year.

While in Porpetto, the three times European Double Trap Junior Champion also competed in the 13th International Grand Prix Juniors, finishing in the ninth place overall with the score of 132/150+5.

Meanwhile George Cassar and Charlie Demanuele were engaged in the 5th Gran Mondiale Perazzi 2016 Trap, with Cassar scoring 164/200 and Demanuele scoring 145/200.

Next week a Maltese group from the Olympic Trap discipline will be going to Rome, Italy for a training camp.
