Malta is once again proud to host the European Judo Cadet Championships 2011 between the 24th and the 26th of June 2011. After the successful EC Cadets 2007 held in Malta, this year over 600 delegates from 40 different countries are expected to attend to this event.

The European Championships for Cadets is one of the largest and important Judo events on the European Judo Union Calendar as it helps young athletes become an international competitor at a very delicate age. A lot of talented young athletes are expected to compete. It helps them build and gives them the opportunity to experience high level Judo, thus starting their Judo journey and winning of medals.

These European Championships ensures harmonious growth of the European Judo, thanks to the technical preparation which each federation provides to the athlete and thus the discipline which they learn.

“It is a great pleasure to see this Championships hosted in my country for the second time after we organised it in 2007. We will do our utmost to ensure that while you are here, you will feel at home and give us the opportunity to show you Maltese hospitality” says the Secretary of the European Judo Union and Malta Judo Federation President, Mr Envic Galea.

“It was the European Judo Union’s decision to have this cadet event entrusted to us and for this I thank the President of the EJU, Mr Sergey Soloveychik.

“On behalf of the European Judo Union I cordially welcome all the participants and guests of the European Championships Cadets in Cottonera, says the President of the EJU, Mr Sergey Soloveychik.I hope you enjoy these championships and witness beautiful judo which will bring all of us a lot of positive emotions.
