Malta to end Group F commitments against Israel

Following a fine second-half performance against Latvia last Friday, the national team will be aiming for a positive result in Group F of the EURO 2012 qualifying round as Malta takes on Israel at the National Stadium, kick-off at 19.00

Malta will end their commitments again in bottom place of Group F as we just earn one point from nine games. Last Friday Malta was beaten 2-0 by inform Latvia. Malta coach John Buttigieg is hoping the team will repeat the second half performance.

Hibernians duo Clayton Fallia and Andrew Cohen is suspended after collected their second yellow card last Friday. Defender Joseph Zerafa and Malta ‘s top scorer Michael Mifsud are set to replace the Hibernians pair. Andrew Hogg is set to keep his place in goal and defender Jonathan Caruana is expected to partner Andrei Agius in the heart of the defence. The Valletta defender Steve Borg will earn his second cap as he will start on the right flank.

Gareth Sciberras and John Hutchinson will take central roles as Roderick Briffa and Ryan Fenech is expected to get the nod on the right and left sides. Andre Schembri and Michael Mifsud will formed the offensive line.

Defenders: Andrei Agius, Roderick Biffa. Steve Borg, Jonathan Caruana, Edward Herrera, Carlo Mamo, Alex Muscat, Joseph Zerafa.

Midfielders: Trevor Cilia, Paul Fenech, Ryan Fenech, John Hutchinson, Jamie Pace, Gareth Sciberras.

Forwards: Christian Caruana , Michael Mifsud, Andre Schembri, Ivan Woods.
