Malta Sports Journalists Association (GħĠS) meets MP at PN Headquarters

A delegation from the Malta Sports Journalists’ Association (GħĠS) has recently met Opposition spokesman for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport Robert Cutajar at the PN Headquarters.

GħĠS President Charles Camenzuli outlined the association’s main concepts with the main important point being that of sustaining the relationships which this association has been established since 1970 has with the country’s entities including governing bodies and political parties.

During this cordial meeting, GħĠS General Secretary Sandro Micallef expressed the association’s sentiment and concern about the basic principles that the GħĠS was not in agreement with with regards the organisation of the National Sport Awards (l-Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali) which for the past four years were organised by KMS and were renamed to ‘SportMalta Awards – l-Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali’ On the other hand, Robert Cutajar revealed that PN will soon launch plans and initiatives with regards to the policy for Sports. Cutajar also said that sports will be one the agenda to be discussed within the Parliamentary Committee for Social Affairs.

At the end of the meeting GħGS President Charles Camenzuli on behalf of the association presented a pin to MP Robert Cutajar which was donated by the AIPS (Association International de la Presse Sportive) in commemoration of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
