The Kickboxing K1 Nationals will take place on Tuesday the 28th of June (eve of a Public Holiday) at STITCH CLUB, Tal-Balal, l/o San Gwann. Doors open at 19:00 hrs where the first bout will commence at 20:00 hrs. This event is presented by Gladiators Promotions.

Three Non-Title and five National Title amateur kickboxing bouts and two Professional K1 bouts will be held that evening.

An International World Title female bout was cancelled due to an unfortunate injury that occurred to the Maltese competitor. Lucienne Desira from Demis Kickboxing Club, who was to face Mavromattidou Ekaterini from Greece, suffered a fractured shin during training. •Isaac Chetcuti will claim his first Title Belt for the Middleweight category whilst Lucienne Rosso will claim her Title Belt in the Super Heavyweight category for the second time running. Their right to claim the Title was due to no challenge has arisen from opponents in their respective weight category. Mr. Chetcuti and Ms. Rosso are both members of the Ying Yang Kickboxing Club. •Renald Tabone from the Red Dragon Kickboxing Club will face Reuben ‘The Wolf’ Azzopardi from the Ying Yang Kickboxing Club in a WKN Professional K1 fight.

The main event of the evening, also being a WKN Professional K1 fight, has been sizzling for the past months and by this time the atmosphere would have reached fevered pitch. This bout will be a ‘Battle of the Nerves’ between two of Malta’s greatest fighters. ‘Super’ Steve Martin from Wu Shu Ky Kickboxing Club and Daniel ‘The Jet’ Zahra from Ying Yang Kickboxing Club. Much to their supporters’ delight, they will face each other like two loose cannons in the ring.

Whichever side the scales tip, the night would surely be one to remember. Both K1 Fights are sanctioned under The World Kickboxing Network (WKN).

Gladiators Promotions (Mr. Adrian Axisa, Mr. Noel Mercieca, Mr. Isaac Chetcuti and Mr. Dominic Micallef Jr.) are the sole Organizers of all WKN Malta Events

the first bout was an hour late,, and the decisions regarding an extra one minute bout’s was a joke , clearly a mass of mayhem that the judges should have decided before the tournament, putting cups in the ring after the third round, discussing there rules between them and then re starting another bout ,while one female fighter had actually taken off gloves, hand protectors, head and shin pads and was being re freshed,, More dedication and proffesoinalism is needed, well done to all the fighters, No comment on judges.
