Malta home games back on TVM ... still many questions around decision by MF

The National broadcaster TVM has reached an agreement with the MFA to broadcast all the games of the Malta National team played on home soil.

For the past four years such games were being broadcast by Melita Sports and recently on it’s channel available to more subscribers Malta Stars. The MFA’s treasurer said that the MFA made a better financial deal with PBS but stressed that it was a decision combined not only with money but it was a decision related to coverage, as the Malta FA thought that the Malta home games must to be aired on the local public broadcaster.

No details were given regarding the away Malta games which are already contracted to GO Sports by the International TV agency Sports five.

The Malta FA can administer only the rights for the Malta home games but has no voice whatsoever when it comes to the away games.

It is not known whether the National broadcaster will also broadcast live the international friendly games and the U/21 Malta full international games.
