NOTE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS: The standings take a few days to compile so they will not be available immediately after the games have finished. Thank you for participating!
For the first time in Malta, you can participate in a Football Fantasy Competition based on the players taking part in the BOV Premier Division. Sportinmalta.com is giving you the opportunity to take part in the competition for FREE and with great prizes which will be announced at a later stage.
Do you think that you have what it takes to select the best players taking part in the BOV Premier Division? Do you think that you are better than most of the local club’s Presidents, Administrators and Coaches by selecting the best players with a limited budget? You think you have the best eye for a good bargain? Then this is your game!
Rules of the game
All you have to do to participate is to select 11 players (1 Goalkeeper, 4 Defenders, 4 Midfielders and 2 Attackers) from a pre determined Players Price List. The cumulative value of these 11 players must not exceed Eur300,000. You must not choose more than four players from the same team and you cannot choose more than four foreigners in your team.
Once you have selected the players, send an email to maltafantasyfootball@gmail.com with your personal details (name, address, telephone number etc), the name of your team, and a list of the 11 players selected.
The players selected in your team will score points based on how they perform in the Premier Division matches. The following is the criteria are on how these points will be generated:
Appearances – 3 points will be given to players who play full game, 2 points for players who play more than 60 mins but less than a full game, and 1 point for the players who play less than 30 mins and 1 point for the players who play less than 60 mins.
Goals - 6 points per goal scored per defender/goalkeeper, 5 points per midfielder and 4 points per attacker.
Discipline – Negative 4 marks per each sending-off and 3 negative marks per each suspension received via the accumulation of 4 yellow cards.
Clean Sheet - If player plays for more than 60 mins - 6 points will be credited per goalkeeper , 4 points per defender, 2 points per midfielder. If player plays less than 30 mins: 3 points per goalkeeper, 2 points per defender and, 1 point per midfielder.
Man of the Match – 3 points per each Man of the Match Award received to one of your players.
On a weekly basis, an updated list of the points generated by the participating teams will be published on sportinmalta.com
So get your mind thinking – pick your team, and send us an email on maltafantasyfootball@gmail.com.
There are no limits on the number of teams which one may participate with.
Prizes announced for Malta Fantasy Football 2010/11
We can now confirm that 4 Enclosure tickets will be available for each Home game of the National Team for season 2010/11. These tickets will be awarded to the top four teams as at the date of the Maltese National Team match. A special thanks goes to the Malta Football Association for their support being shown in this initiative.
We are also proud to announce further prizes for the top participants of this competition. We have reached an agreement with the MFA wherein the top participants will receive a season ticket for the Premier League Matches 2011/12. More details will be announced soon.
More prizes will be announced at a later stage.

results will be published the next day after the last premier league match of the week (in this case – last match was on monday, and results were published on Tuesday).
Next week – matches will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – updated tables will be published on Monday

Hi Karl, during this season there will be no double points for the captain.
Next year’s version of the competition will have a number of changes as those following Maltese football will get more used with the concept of fantasy football.
Re: Transfer – It is expected that a transfer window will be organised in January 2011.
