Former National coach Dunsal Fitzel was approached by the Malta Football Association to fill the national coach vacant job after the sacking of John Buttigieg and Carmel Busutill.

The fourth eight year old is currently the Czech Republic Technical Director and also holds an important role at Uefa.

The former EPA Larnaca player was appointed national coach in 2006. Before the return to his country he had a very positive spell including the 2-1 win against Hungary and two draws against Moldavia and giants Turkey. He left the post in 2009 for health reasons.

At yesterday’s MFA monthly council meeting President Norman Darmanin Demajo praiseed the former mentor and did not rule out the possibility of being interested in his services for filling the vacancy of Malta national team coach.
