Low key game ends all square

The Gudja youngsters were slightly better than Senglea in this low key game. following this game Gudja are in fifth position on 16 points from 11 games while Senglea are in penultimate placing having only 7 points from same number of games.
Gudja created the first actions. After only one minute Marlon Caruana was fouled on the right flank and the ball was cleared away following the free kick shot by Philip Abela. Kurt Sapiano served Caruana in the area and Sebglea keeper Brandon Sevasta foiled him with a timely sortie. Brandon Saliba was then fouled outside the area and the same player drove well off target from the free kick and Sapiano served Bradley Cassar in the area but he missed the upright from his shot.
In Senglea’s first occasion Andrew Camilleri served Roderick Brincat on the right flank but he drove out after entering the area, at the other end, Caruana sereved Saliba with a through ball who entered the area after beating a defender and after Sevasta partly saved his shot the ball was cleared away to safety.

In the 31st minute Senglea were denied by the woodwork when Brincat served Camilleri with a square pass outside the area and the ball hit the upright from his shot with Gudja keeper Andreas Calleja beaten.
Three minutes before half time Senglea opened the score when Royter Borg served Camilleri with a through ball and he scored with a hard rising shot from 30 metres.
Gudja equalised a minute after restart as Caruana dribbled past an opponent on the left flank and served Cassar with a cross in the area and he scored with a hard grounder.
After this goal there were only six actions worthy of note.
In a Senglea attack, Lydon Azzopardi served Brandon Galea in the area and Calleja foiled with a timely sortie by diving at his feet and smothered the ball.
The reaction by Gudja was very immediate as they mounted three actions in a row. Nicholas Camilleri served Cassar on the right flank and the ball finished out from his cross. After Saliba was fouled outside the area Abela drove off target from the resultant free kick and Cassar drove straight out from a corener kick on the right flank.
Five minutes before the end Senglea came very close of obtaining the winning goal . Royter Borg was fouled just outside the area and after the ball was partly sleared from the free kick by Brincat , Carlos abela drove slightly out with an over-head kick.
In the last action before the end, Caruana served Saliba in the area and Sevasta saved his close-range shot to a corner.
