The first squash tournament that is being organised by Malta Squash for this 2015/16 season will be held at the Cynergi Health & Fitness Club on Saturday 10th October – World Squash Day.

In the meantime, the first round of the national squash league has already started. One does not need to be a top squash player to join the national league. There are currently 8 divisions to cater for the different playing levels, from relative beginners in the lower divisions, to intermediate and more advanced players, including national team players, in the higher divisions.

Both men and women take part in the league and age is no limit either. Some players are over 50 years old while the youngest player in the league is 11-year old Kijan Sultana, who has already reached a very good level.

There are no fixed dates and times when league matches are played. Players need to contact the others players in their division to arrange a mutually convenient date and venue to play their matches by the end of the round. Each round is allocated 6-8 weeks.

The national squash league is this season being sponsored by Scotts Supermarket and is being coordinated by Robert Sultana with assistance from Jean-Paul Navarro and Jason Stivala.

Next round of the national league will start in the second week of November. Squash players who are interested in joining the national squash league, or who need more information, should send an email to:

Before joining the league the players’ level will be assessed so that they can be included in the appropriate division.
