La Salle Handball Club inaugurate new season

After months of hard work, preparation and a new sense of enthusiasm, La Salle Handball Club inaugurated the new season with a press conference at Caccu Social Club in Qormi. The new executive committee of the club has also been nominated officially. President Victor Zammit, Secretary Maria Psaila Valletta, Vice President Clive Ferrante, Treasurer Andrew Mifsud and Member Stephanie Desjardins have been re elected, whereas Margaret Mercieca and Raffaella Zammit Tabona have been elected as Member and Public Relations Officer respectively following the club’s AGM this summer.

La Salle Handball Club has also secured the services of Swedish coach Lotta Malmberg for the Men’s seniors team for the upcoming season. Malmberg will replace Bulgarian Dimitar Milev. In the ladies section the club also secured the services of coach John Falzon. Falzon will replace Andrew Said. Victor Zammit, the club’s president, congratulated the Men’s seniors team for their success in the III Trofeo Ortigia two weeks ago were the La Sallians placed 3rd in a tournament of 8 teams held in Siracusa, being the first local team to compete on foreign grounds and hence represent the Maltese handball society.

The President also stated that despite all these changes within the structure of the club, La Salle will remain one of the top Maltese club’s vying for honours in the men’s, women’s and Junior categories.
