KMS Skolasport, a programme run by the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport, will be starting its 2nd term on Saturday 12th January. In addition to its already impressive range of sports disciplines, KMS Skolasport is introducing hockey for 7 to 16 year olds every Wednesday at the Kirkop Sports Complex.

KMS Skolasport, sponsored by Kellogg’s, offers various programme modules in different venues, including Maria Regina College in Mosta, Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex, Tal-Handaq, Marsa Sports Complex, Cottonera Sports Complex, St Benedict’s Sports Complex (Kirkop), St Claire’s College (Pembroke), and Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex. This scholastic year saw the addition of the Żebbuġ Secondary School and three Primary schools in Qormi, Siġġiewi and Luqa – which form part of the St Ignatius College, , substantially widening the sports venue choice for the children.

The Skolasport Programme covers the development of movement and literacy where the main concern is that of ensuring that all children learn basic movement skills, enjoy being active, and develop knowledge and understanding of their bodies.

KMS Skolasport also organises Keep Fit classes for adults which are ideal for those parents whose children attend sport sessions at the same premises and time.

Kellogg’s is the world renowned producer of breakfast cereals which give adults and children necessary nutrients and vitamins to kick start their day.

“Performing physical exercises is a health investment, prevents illness and keeps one aware of the importance of a healthy diet starting with a morning breakfast. We encourage adults and parents to take up these classes and actively set an example for their children followed up by a healthy and balanced diet,” said a Kellogg’s spokesperson.
