Kavallieri see off unimaginative Alligators

Sunday, March 7, 2010, 20:58

Kavallieri got off to a great start as Muscat converted two penalties to send the squad into an early lead.

The exciting start was followed by Azzopardi’s try in the corner as a result of good hands in the Kavallieri back line. A second try was scored after a series of rucks by their forwards. Both tries successfully converted by Muscat.

Kavallieri continued to push with Muscat being rewarded with his try after chasing a penalty kick from his 22metre line. Successfully converted.

Kavallieri demonstrated their depth of play with two more important scores, one try coming after good hands and another through their strong forward play, the latter again being converted by Muscat.

Towards the end of the first forty minutes, a fast moving ball caught Alligators off balance allowing Kavallieri’s fullback to run in the last try of the half.

Alligators improved in the second half with Farrugia standing out as he made tackle after tackle.

However, even this renewed vigour couldn’t stop Kavallieri’s Doublesin and Attard scoring, adding two tries to their tally.

Kavallieri once again took control of the match and didn’t allow Alligators to get started.
