Kavallieri RFC will be holding their annual post-season tour over the weekend in Budapest. The team together with the club officials we leave Malta on Friday 4th June in the morning.

The team will be playing against the Hungarian side Budapest Exiles RFC on Saturday. Match will kick-off at 14.00. Kavallieri will be missing some key players for this match such us national team players Ian Borda, Robert Bonavia and Michael Bonavia who were all unavailable due to working commitments, Daryl Psaila also a national team player will be out due to injury. Kavallieri will be led by caretaker coach Pierre Azzopardi who was also unavailable for this trip. Albeit the missing players, the team is still very confident that it will bring home a good result which will make Maltese rugby proud especially being the current Champions.

Last year Kavallieri toured in Rome where they played Serie A hopefuls and semi-professional team Frascati, however the result was a disappointing one, where the difference in level of both teams was evident.

The match against Budapest Exiles will also serve as a testimonial match for ex- Malta international David Borg who decided to hang up his boots and the end of the season.

The team returns to Malta on Tuesday 8th, since as customary in rugby they will stretch the trip for a couple of extra days to tour and party together.
