ASMK will be organising the 7th Autocross ASMK- Pasta Poiatti National Championship event on Sunday 26th January. The event which is scheduled to start at noon will be run in a clock-wise direction which also includes a special S shaped bend right before the Finish Line. This race is a favourit one with many drivers and spectators alike.

Gordon Johnson on his Peugeot 205 is still leading the National Autocross Championship with 84 points while Melo Zammit is challenging the leadership on his Escort with 82 points. Vince Farrugia on his Volkswagen Polo follows in third place with 70 points while Matthew Borg on his Vauxhall Nova is placed 4th Overall with 66 points. This result has already drawn the attention of many about any possible placing changes especially among the present top two drivers.

From the beginning of this present Championship all Class A and B results are listed in one National Championship Points scale thus, the names on the list are frequently changing places.  This has also resulted in more attractive driving exhibitions and higher competition levels.

The Present Class A Leader Melo Zammit has won 24 points from the 54 points available on his Escort Mk3. Christian Galea on a Fiat Ritmo and Gordon Johnson on a Peugeot 205 are both placed 2nd with 15 points each. Vince Farrugia on a Volkswagen Polo is placed 4th with 13 points.

Andrew Pisani is leading the Autocross Class B with 27 points on a Vauxhall Nova. Josef Grech on his Ford Fiesta is placed 2nd in Class B with 13 points and Philip Joe Vella is placed 3rd in Class on his Vauxhall Nova with 10 punts.

The Gozo Autocross Class leader is Domenic Zammit on his Alfa Sud with 42 points. He is presently having pressure for the lead from other drivers especially during the day’s Heats. 2nd placed Joseph Agius on a Ford Fiesta won 27 points is trying hard to beat Zammit during the Heats and the Final race. 3rd placed Joseph Vella also drives a Ford Fiesta has won 13 points so far.

Practice sessions for both the Autocross and Motocross are organized every Saturday afternoon from 2.00pm onwards and entrance to the track paddocks during the practice sessions is free.

The Trials event of the 19th January at the AWDC Quarry at l-Ahrax tal-Mellieha was cancelled due to bad weather forecast. ASMK Administration would like to inform that this event is scheduled for Sunday 23rd February same venue at Mellieha. The riders start riding their section obstacles.
