Twenty five year old Andrew Spiteri is set to extended his break from the beautful game as he’s fed up with football problems. The former Pieta Hotspurs defender had several problems with former club Marsaxlokk due to late payments and allegations of a false signiture in his contract.

Several Division One clubs and Gzira United contacted the player to continue his playing days but for now he is set to take a break from the game.

Spiteri is a Pieta Hotspurs product and he also played some time for Castelo di Sangro at his teens but he returned to Malta again with Pieta Hotspurs after the Blues was relegated. He also played for Msida St Joseph, Marsaxlokk and Floriana.

Birkirkara released foreign duo

Birkirkara released foreigner duo Rodrigo Pereira and goalkeeper Jorge Mora. The Spanish asked the stripes to terminate his contract, for personal reasons The committee understood his situation, and both parties reached an amicable solution, and ended the contract with mutual consent. Mora is set to return to his homeland, in the coming days.

Brazilian defender Rodrigo Pereira had his contract terminated after falling out of favour with the club. The twenty nine year old was one of the club top earners and he joined the Stripes from First Vienna.

Floriana to balance the books

After Floriana released striker Wilko Risser from his contract the greens are set to offload three more players in January transfer window according to a committee member. Top of the list is out of favour striker Ryan Darmanin as the Greens are set to balance the books after the signings of Nigerian Sodie and Ghanaian defender Eric Akoto. The twenty six year old striker was offered to Marsaxlokk president Renato Attard last week as the Blues are indeed short of players as several stars are expecting to leave the south coast club.

Premier clubs target Carlo Mamo

Thirty two year old Carlo Mamo is wanted by two former clubs as Tarxien Rainbows and Birkirkara are targeting to engage the former Sliema Wanderers left back. The Marsaxlokk club captain won the league championship six times with three different clubs.

Mqabba to sign Julian Briffa

Veteran defender Julian Briffa is set to continue his career with his hometown Mqabba as he will be released by Sliema Wanderers. The former Floriana defender who owns his release will join Clive Mizzi’s squad from next January as he also coached him way back at the Mqabba nursery.
