I’ve got balls, that is why I resigned – Johann SaidTuesday, February 1, 2011, 13:46

The outspoken, young and energetic Floriana FC President Johann Said has handed his resignation to all the Floriana FC committee members via an email sent earlier today, this site has learnt. Said who has been at the helm of the Floriana football team since last Summer decided it was time to make this move because according to him he could not work anymore with some individuals within the Green’s committee.
In a short interview with this site Said remarked “I decided to resign with immediate effect as I am not happy with the way that things are run in local football. Either the MFA or the Clubs have to change the football committee’s statute or else I am out for good”.
When asked if his decision was irreversible, Said dribbled the question and added “I have got the balls, and that is why I decided to resign as President of Floriana. I love this Club and I think I took this decision in the interest of the Club”
Pressed to speak up if his resignation had any relation with his failure to get Michael Mifsud put pen to paper last night to play for his team, Johann Said commented “You cannot go and buy a new kitchen if you do not have a home and you cannot go and buy a Ferrari if you hav eother debts to pay” (referring to the past debts that have been incurred by previous Floriana FC administrations).
Sportinmalta.com has spoken to two Floriana FC insiders who have confirmed that most probably an Extraordinary General Meeting will be either called by the Green’s members to try and convince Said to revoke his decision or else his resignation would have to be discussed tonight or tomorrow evening in an urgent committee meeting that might be called up.
