Italian Coaches for Volleyball Summer School

Wednesday, August 1, 2012, 15:53

The Volleyball Summer School, organised by Scuola di Pallavolo Malta, has now entered its third week, with 15 boys and girls regularly attending and enjoying fun volleyball training sessions 3 times weekly. Upon their first day of participation all kids were given a t-shirt of the event and a free volleyball each.

While in Malta for their annual English & Volley Camp last week, Scuola di Pallavolo Anderlini of Modena, Italy, supported its Maltese counterpart by sending 2 of its coaches who visited and directed a training session. It was a great opportunity for all kids who attended, to gain from the experience of these professional coaches.

Mr. Marco Neviani and Ms. Ilaria Boccaleoni, coaches of SdP Anderlini, were both thrilled by the warm welcome and enthusiasm they received by the Maltese kids. During the 2 hour training session they effectively introduced children to the spiking technique, with some very encouraging results.

Mr. Neviani, who directed the training session in English so that all kids could follow instructions effectively, said that this Summer School is a great opportunity for Maltese volleyball to introduce more kids to the game and looked forward to visiting again in the future. He expressed his certainty that such an interesting and fun programme will definitely grow bigger and attract more and more children in the future.

The Directors of Scuola di Pallavolo Malta would like to thank Scuola di Pallavolo Anderlini, particularly Mr. Neviani and Ms. Boccaleoni, for their availability and for making this day a memorable one for the young Maltese athletes.

Parents wanting to enrol their children to this programme can still to do so by contacting Scuola di Pallavolo Malta on info@sdpmalta.com or on 79208723. All training sessions are held indoors and are aimed at teaching children the basic techniques of volleyball as well as instilling a sense of cooperation with their team-mates. More information can be found on the school’s website www.sdpmalta.com, where one can also find photos of the event.
