International Contingents for Malta Youth Rugby announced

A Press Conference to announce international contingents for forthcoming commitments, was held at Marsa Sports Grounds, in the presence of the Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport, the Hon. Mr. Chris Agius, Malta Rugby Football Union Vice-President & Malta School of Rugby Chairman Mr. Joseph Borda, Head Coach, Mr. Damian Neill, Youths Head Coach Mr. Daniel Holliday and Youths Officials flanked by players from U18s,U15s & U13s age groups.

During the press conference members of the media were given the latest updates on Malta School of Rugby forthcoming international commitments.

The first commitments will be undertaken by the U18s Malta Rugby team who will be participating for the second consecutive year in Andorra.  Malta will play against Israel, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria & Slovenia between the 29 March and 4 April. Intensive training was provided during these last six months and Youths are now geared up for a prestigious performance.

In the meantime, Junior Players in the U13 and U15 categories will be, between the 23 – 25 April, representing Malta for the third year, in a Regional Tournament to be held in Librino Sicily. The Junior players’ skills have been developed and nurtured through the ongoing commitment of the Malta School of Rugby within the MRFU.

In their closing remarks, the Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport The Hon. Mr. Chris Agius and MRFU Vice President Mr.Joseph Borda thanked Officials all the coaches for the voluntary work put in, to make these events possible and congratulated all players selected to represent Malta, confident that they will all give their best performances to make Malta proud.
