The three Maltese international volleyball referees have been appointed to officiate in a number of matches, in the forthcoming three months, in competitions organised by the European Volleyball Confederation (C.E.V.).

Mr. Frankie Tanti will be refereeing his 51st international match as first referee in a match from the women’s CEV cup in Athens, Greece, for the home leg of the tie between Olympiacos Piraeus and SF Paris St. Cloud of France.  Later on in early November, Mr. Tanti will be the second referee in the home match between Fonte Bastardo Azores and Euphony Asse-Lennik of Belgium.  This match will be played in Praia da Vitoria in the Azores Islands and will be from the CEV Men’s Challenge Cup.

Mr. Marvic Micallef has been appointed to officiate in two different matches, both of them in November, and both from the Men’s CEV Challenge Cup.  His first appointment will be as first referee in the home match between Pokka A.E. Karava and Swiss outfit TV Shonenwerd being played in Limassol, Cyprus.  Mr. Micallef will then be the second referee in a match from the second round of the same Men’s CEV Challenge Cup between Foinikas Syros and Shakhtior Soligorsk from Belarus.  This match will be played in Foinikas on the island of Syros, which forms part of the Cyclades in Greece.

The other referee, Mr. Nello Calleja, will also be reaching the 50th international match milestone when he will be travelling to Gacko in Bosnia and Herzegovina to officiate as second referee in the match between home team OK Gacko and Hermes Oostende from Belgium.  This match is from the second round of the Women’s CEV Challenge Cup.

Later on in December, Mr. Nello Calleja will officiate as second referee in an away match from the 8th Final of the Men’s CEV Volleyball Cup.
