Maltese basketball stars Samuel Deguara and Joshua Jackson managed to win individual awards at the Division C European Championships that were held in Malta last week.

The Maltese national teamJackson was voted as the best forward of tournament while Deguara took home the best pivot/centre award in this tournament. Samuel Deguara also won the commendable award for fair play.

Incidentally one must also note that this was the first bronze medal for the Maltese men’s basketball team at this competition

The result could have been better but for the arrogance and attitude of Coach Bruno. It is unbelievable how coach (??) Bruno had as an assistant another Italian coach (??), and another 4 Maltese also as assistant coaches.

In Maltese we say KAWLATA KBIRA.

The organization also left much to be desired, with a malfunction score board throughout the tournament and not playing the National anthem as ‘they’ could not find the CD!!!!
