Rabat    4       White Hart   2    Umpires Luke Busuttil Leaver   John Williams

The game, played in changing weather conditions – quite pleasant in the end, saw Rabat providing a commanding second half performance to finish up worthy winners after falling behind on two occasions.

White Hart went ahead in the 16th minute when a Daniel Sieffert shot into the D was unfortunately deflected into his own net by Chris Bugeja.   Rabat then piled on the pressure but could not break through although winning four penalty corners.  This was mainly due to some top drawer goal keeping by White Hart’s Robert Vassallo Agius.    Rabat did equalize in the 31st minute when Kevin Micallef hit home from the top of the D.    The half time whistle blew with honours even.

One minute into the second half Paul Torpiano pushed home from close range following a fast flowing White Hart move to put his team 2 – 1 ahead.   Two minutes later Mario Galea equalized for Rabat after a melee in the D.   From then on it was all Rabat and after Charlot  Antonelli  missed a sitter in the 43rd minute and after further heroics by Vassallo Agius in the White Hart goal, Jason Vella scored Rabat’s third to give them the lead for the first time in the match.   In the 53rd minute Rabat scored their fourth, through Josef Antonelli who  capped an outstanding performance, and although they pressed further winning another three penalty corners the game ended with Rabat running out winners by a two goal margin to set up a semi final encounter against Qormi.
