White Hart started like a house on fire and went into the lead in the second minute when Matthew Camilleri slotted home from the left side of D.  On their part, Rabat, did not take advantage of three penalty corners in the next ten minutes and went further behind when in the 20 th minute White Hart were awarded a penalty stroke and Keith Laferla converted in style to send his side 2 – 0 up. Four minutes later Rabat pulled one back when Charlot Antonelli netted with a crisp finish. Philip Magri hit the post for Rabat in the 29 th minute and two minutes later Antonelli grabbed his second goal to equalize for Rabat as a result of a penalty corner action.
On the stroke of half time Shawn Falzon pushed home to send Rabat into a 3 - 2 lead.

The second half saw the game swing Rabat’s way with Kevin Micallef scoring their fourth in the the 38 th minute. After a period of mid filed play Antonelli notched his hat trick in the 52 nd minute to put Rabat into a 5 -2 lead. They were awarded a penalty stroke in the 62 nd minute and Chris Bugeja stepped up to score his side’s sixth goal giving them a comfortable victory after coming back from a two goal deficit.

This turned out to be a game which could have gone either way. Play was concentrated in mid filed for most of the first half with Hotsticks maintaining the initiative for most of the time. In fact they did not take advantage of four penalty corners awarded to them. Just before half time Qormi broke away and Kyle MIcallef shot them into the lead, following a swift counter attack.

Hotsticks came out on the attack in the second half and in the 39 th minute they drew level when Steve Portelli netted a beauty from the right side of the D. The game then increased in tempo with studied tactics blown to the wind and Hotsticks went further ahead in the 44 th minute when Portelli scored once again, as a result of a penalty corner action, giving his side a 2 – 1 lead. This stung Qormi into action and after not taking advantage of a couple of penalty corners they were awarded another one in the 59 th minute and Juan Sarcia scored to equalize. They continued to exert pressure and two minutes from time Sarcia grabbed his second to send his team into a
3 – 2 lead which they held up to the end to earn a very narrow and hard fought victory which sent them into a two point lead in the league standings.
